MRI Suite
Crown Point, IN
This project was completed in three phases and involved converting existing hospital spaces into a new MRI suite including a scan room, control room, equipment room, staff support areas, and associated corridors. The scope included selective demolition, structural modifications, specialized concrete foundations and precast modifications, RF shielding, MEP upgrades, medical gas systems, fire protection, and new interior finishes.
The Scope of work also involved temporarily removing and restoring an exterior precast wall panel to accommodate MRI equipment installation, along with installing a new MRI quench vent system. A highlight point is the construction was performed while keeping the adjacent, existing MRI fully operational throughout the entire project. This required careful phasing, coordination with hospital staff, protection of occupied areas, and management of construction activities around sensitive medical equipment. Maintaining uninterrupted MRI operations while executing a technically complex renovation.
