The Pangere Corporation was selected by Community Health Systems as the General Contractor for the construction of the new Stroke and Rehabilitation Center. Along with its team of 38 subcontractors and its many suppliers, the Pangere team constructed the four-story, 129,000- square-foot, multi-specialty facility located in Crown Point, Indiana. Pangere self-performed all the carpentry work as well as the erection of the building steel structure.

The first floor of the new Stroke and Rehabilitation Center contains immediate care, radiology, laboratory services, and outpatient therapy services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and physician offices. The second floor houses the Women’s Diagnostic Center, which offers mammography, bone density scanning, and other services.

The third and fourth floors have 40 private rooms for inpatient rehabilitation care and additional activity/gym rooms. Among those are apartment-themed rooms where patients can practice daily living activities. Therapies provided on these floors are for complex stroke, traumatic brain injury, neurological conditions, and spinal cord treatments.

The building also has a healing garden, a visitors café, and an abundance of natural lighting.
